Managing your user account, profiles and roles in preparedEPA
Your preparedEPA user account accompanies you throughout your professional career. You always use the same login, even when you change institution, specialty or role.
One account for your entire career
You can have several profiles under one user account. Each profile links a role, such as Trainee or Supervisor, to a specialty and an institution.
This is particularly useful if you:
- change institution, specialty or role during your career;
- work as a Supervisor in several specialties or institutions at the same time;
- are a Trainee in one specialty while working as a Supervisor in another.
You can add each new combination as another profile. All profiles remain connected to the same user account, so you do not need an additional login.
What is the current profile?
Your current profile determines the role, institution and specialty in which you are currently using preparedEPA.
You can switch your current profile in two ways:
- using the new drop-down menu on the Home screen;
- under Settings → My profiles / roles by selecting “Set as current”.
Adding and managing profiles
Under Settings → My profiles / roles, you can see your active and deactivated profiles. From there, you can:
- create a new profile or role;
- manage profile details and data-sharing settings;
- set an active profile as current;
- deactivate profiles you no longer need;
- reactivate deactivated profiles when needed.

Deactivating previous profiles
You can deactivate profiles from previous positions. They will no longer appear in the profile selector and cannot be used as the current profile. The former institution will then no longer have operational access to your data through this profile in preparedEPA.
The profile is not deleted and can be reactivated later. A Supervisor role may require renewed approval from the institution.
Recommendation: Review your active profiles regularly and deactivate profiles you no longer use.
